Seven cities in New York State that turn into a fairy tale every winter

Christmas in New York is a wonderful time: snow is falling, festive melodies are playing, colorful lights are sparkling from all sides. From metropolitan areas to small towns, every place in the state celebrates Christmas in its own way. But there are seven cities that turn into a real fairy tale in winter. Their list was collected by the publication Only In Your State.

1. Corning

In winter, Corning becomes a particularly festive place. It's called the Crystal City for a reason, and Country Living magazine ranks Corning as one of the best Christmas cities in the United States. 2. North Paul

You got it right. Right here in New York, we have our own North Pole! And it's a great place to celebrate Christmas. This Wilmington village sits right in the Adirondacks and looks like the perfect town from a Christmas movie. 3. New York City

No list of the best places to celebrate Christmas in New York State would be complete without the Big Apple. It's not for nothing that Christmas is often filmed here. Movies... An abundance of lights, different shows and a 24-meter tree in Rockefeller Plaza are just some of New York City's Christmas wonders. The city that never sleeps is a fantastic place to enjoy Christmas.

4. Cooperstown

Cooperstown is a great town with a lot to offer. It is known for the National Hall of Fame and Baseball Museum. But there is a lot more to do here, especially at Christmas. This includes some excellent local shopsworth visiting. Among other things, you won't want to miss the Christmas carol show and candlelight tours hosted by Farm museum.

5. Scaniatles

Scaniatles has about 8000 inhabitants, but when it comes to the holiday mood, it can outperform almost any city in the country. The annual Dickens Christmas event is a bombshell and there are many great local shops to surprise you. Detailed information can be find on the city website.

6. Lake Placid
