Even though the school year has ended, the City Department of Education will continue to provide for students free breakfasts and lunches. The Summer Free Meal Program is available to all children in New York City under the age of 18, and no registration, paperwork, or ID is required to receive meals. Lunches will be distributed in schools, public swimming pools, parks and vans.
Schedule and menu
The program operates from Wednesday, June 28 to Friday, September 1. On June 28, only some pickup points will open (many will be closed on the occasion of the Muslim holiday of Aid al-Adha). Most points will start working from June 29th. On Tuesday, July 4th, all pickup locations will be closed due to a US Independence Day holiday.
