Train Show Opens at Grand Central Terminal This Week: Free Admission

The New York City Train Show will reopen at Grand Central Terminal on November 14. You can for free see miniature versions of trains.
Trains depart from a miniature replica of Grand Central Terminal. The Transit Museum's collection of model trains, including the Metro-North, Polar Express, and vintage subway train sets, zip past New York City landmarks and head to the North Pole.

“The Holiday Train Show is a family tradition where visitors can enjoy the magic of miniature trains and vibrant artwork,” said Concetta Bencivenga, director of the Transit Museum. “Watch the rumble of vintage carriages on the tracks and tiny pedestrians stroll through exquisitely detailed miniature streets. This show is a must-see.”
Every year, hundreds of thousands of visitors of all ages enjoy this unique experience. This year, the exhibition features the work of illustrator Franco Zachi. Visitors will see a stunning large-scale mural depicting trains, buses, and bridges against a beautiful snow-covered New York City skyline.
The Holiday Train Show will be on display at Grand Central Terminal through February 2025. It is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 19:30 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m. The exhibit is closed on major holidays. You will find the exhibit in the shuttle walkway at 42nd Street and Park Avenue, next to the Station Master's Office.
