Strong wind knocked down trees in New York: they damaged the house and car

A cold front moving through the New York area brought massive downpours and strong gusts of wind on November 30, reports Fox5.
The National Weather Service reported wind gusts of 30 to 40 miles (19 to 25 km) per hour along the coast. The wind warning was for Brooklyn and Queens, all of Long Island and Connecticut. As well as parts of the Hudson Valley and northwestern New Jersey.
“Wind can knock down tree branches and damage unprotected objects. Several power lines could also be damaged, the National Weather Service said. “While flooding is not expected, intermittent heavy downpours could affect the evening rush hour.”
There have been reports of fallen trees. For example, one of them fell on a house in Queens, and another on parked cars in Brooklyn.

On 163rd Street in Flushing, a tree was uprooted. It blocked the sidewalk in front of the house. The fallen tree appears to have had a wooden frame of planks around the trunk.
Then there were reports that a fallen tree had landed on an SUV on Henry Street in Cobble Hill. Crews later cut down most of the tree.
“Despite the high likelihood of strong wind gusts in coastal areas, the likelihood of wind gusts of 45 to 55 miles (28-34 km) per hour elsewhere is still low. Especially right before and after the passage of a cold front,” the National Weather Service said in a statement.
