The fairy tale comes to life: in New York, you can fall down the rabbit hole and walk through the Looking Glass

Embark on a mesmerizing journey through the Looking Glass at Wonderland Dreams in Midtown. Created by artist Alexa Meade, this breathtaking 26-square-foot fantasy landscape is inspired by the magic of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The 20 rooms of floor-to-ceiling paintings take visitors into a world of giant playing cards, secret rose gardens and crazy tea parties, placing them inside the paintings themselves in a living gallery.
Every inch of the space is hand-painted using Mead's signature 3D painting style, which makes the world look like a 2D work of art. The guests become the protagonists of the painting, bringing each seemingly endless room to life, making them feel like they've escaped reality.

You can't imagine what awaits you inside Wonderland Dreams. Become the Queen of Hearts by taking your seat on her throne, ride your rocking horse across the golden field as giant magical flowers bloom, and bask in the light of glowing lanterns as you become the Mad Hatter, calling on everyone around you to join the tea party.
After wandering through the magic, guests will find a history-based wine bar and café where they can order drinks that seem like fairy tales, such as "The Hatter's Tea" or "We're All Totally Crazy." Drinks are also accompanied by themed small snacks.
Guests can even take home their share of the magic by choosing items such as clothes, playing cards or one-of-a-kind 3D art objects from the gift shop.
“I believe that art should make everyone feel welcome and leave them inspired, which is my goal. At Wonderland Dreams, everyone who enters the exhibition becomes part of this living work of art,” said Alexa Mead.
The exhibition is open from May to September. Ticket costs from $39.
