In one of the bars in New York, there was a clash between two visitors. The conflict was led by the fact that one of them was without a protective mask. The incident ended tragically - one of them died. The details are shared by the publication The Guardian.
At a bar in West Seneca, New York, on September 26, a clash broke out between two patrons. Donald M Lewinski, 65, pushed 80-year-old Rocco E Sapienza, causing him to fall and hit his head on the floor.
The clash was due to the fact that Sapienza was not wearing a protective mask, said District Attorney John Flynn.
As a result, Sapienza lost consciousness and eventually died on October 1. According to the district attorney, the cause of death was a blunt trauma.
Lewinsky will be charged with a felony by negligence.
Lewinsky's lawyer, Barry Covert, said his client pleaded not guilty and called Sapienza's death a tragedy. “I watched the video from the bar, and it really looks like Sapienza is coming from a different part of the bar to initiate a confrontation with my client who was in a different part of the bar,” Covert added.

The case is the latest in a series of mask-wearing fatal clashes around the world since the coronavirus pandemic began.
In May, a security guard at a Family Dollar store in Flint, Michigan was fatally injured after refusing entry to a customer without a mask.
In July, a bus driver in France suffered a fatal brain injury and later died. The tragedy happened due to the fact that he did not allow a group of people without masks to enter the bus.
