More than 300 free events: a large-scale summer festival will take place in New York

Riverside Park Conservancy has announced the lineup for Summer on the Hudson. According to I Love The Upper West Side, it will be the largest in 20 years of its existence.
Festival Summer on the Hudson, hosted by the Riverside Park Conservancy in partnership with NYC Parks, begins May 1 and runs through October. More than 300 free events will take place along the river between 59th and 181st streets.
Program of events
Pier I will once again host a silent disco, Irish dance festival, FlyNYC (kite flying), West Side County Fair, trivia nights; There will be plenty of live music and outdoor film screenings.
Other interesting programs include painting at the 91st Street Garden; Grow NYC Stop 'N' Swap event at the Field House; forest bathing, bird walks and gardening tours; stories and music for children; fitness classes such as yoga, parkour, tai chi and pilates.
Riverside Park Conservancy is transforming its traditional annual spring fundraiser into a “kickoff party” for Summer on the Hudson on June 5 at Sakura Park.
“The new event will feature local artists and performers and raise important funds for community programs and landscaping,” the press release states.

Every Thursday in August there will be film screenings on the Hudson River Boardwalk at 145th Street, as well as Black Birders Week, a bird-watching walk in partnership with NYC Audubon.
