At certain times, Spain's Mercadona supermarkets become a haven for people looking for love. One sign that you're looking is an upside-down pineapple in your basket, reports SUR.
Spanish retailer Mercadona has been trending on social media platforms X, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok for several days now.
They all presented their versions of the latest trend that hit the store.
However, it is not because of a new product on the shelves or anything to do with the prices in the stores. Instead, Mercadona has become a popular place to Search love.

"The time to go to Mercadona is from 7 to 8 p.m. Here we are, both with our purchases, walking around," laugh two women in the video.
Their video has already racked up hundreds of thousands of views, as well as over 3000 comments and 73 likes. In fact, many people actually shop at Mercadona to become acquainted.
Signals for action
If a person is open to meeting someone in Mercadona, they should give a signal. For example, one sign that you are hoping to meet someone is to take a pineapple and "put it upside down in your cart."

After that, you should go to a certain department. If you see another person there with an upside-down pineapple, you should bump into him with a cart if you like the look of it.
If you are between 19 and 25 years old, take your pineapple to the frozen food section.
From 25 to 35 - to the fish department.
Those over 40 go to the wine and vodka shop.
Other chains – Lidl and Carrefour – decided to join the “Meeting in a Supermarket” flash mob.
They announced this on their X (Twitter) accounts, but suggested a watermelon as an identifying mark.
