Argyll
About thirty minutes southeast of Lake George, the town of Argyle has a population of less than 4000. County town Washington, is the largest "dry" city in the state of New York, where alcohol has not been sold since 2000.

Another small town with a population of only 1000 is located in Oswego County. Orwell is famous for the falls of the Salmon River. Prohibition has been in effect here since 1998.

Right in West New York, just half an hour south of State Park Letchworth, is the small town of Kanedea, which was once part of our other favorite town - Angelica.
Kanedea, part of Allegany County, has a population of just over 2000 residents and has been a dry city since 1986.

Clymer
In the western part of our state near the border with Pennsylvania is the town of Clymer, belonging to the county of Chautauqua. With a population of less than 2000, the city has been under Prohibition since 1974.

This city is not to be confused with Fremont in Sullivan County. We are talking about Fremont, near Southern Thayer. The second dry town in the Steuben district since 1948! Less than 1000 people live here. For example, Steuben County is the largest dry law county in the state.

Lapire
With the smallest population of the entire list of towns, Lapir has had the status of a dry city since 1948. It is in Cortland County, half an hour from Cortland and Ithaca.
