Dance club 'Kaleidoscope' invites you to trial classes: give your child a bright and interesting hobby

Russian-speaking children from 4 to 20 years old from dozens of countries are engaged in dancing in the ensemble.

“Probably, we are one of a kind,” says team leader Valentin Usmanov, who came to the US from Ukraine. – Children of different nationalities, cultures and religions, who speak different languages, attend our club. They combine their ability to learn, which we try to instill in them in the first place, love for dance and history, for ethnic traditions, which we study in parallel with dance.

Valentin and his choreographer wife Victoria created a unique teaching method aimed at the comprehensive development and upbringing of the child, and not just teaching him dance moves.

“Folk dance is spectacular. Male folk dance is part of the martial arts. We have our own unique teaching method, which, combined with the hard work of children and parents, in just a few years has allowed us to become one of the most professional dance groups in New York,” Usmanov proudly says. And this urbanity is fully justified: pupils "Kaleidoscope" invited to events and festivals in different parts of the United States; they have won awards in many competitions; even spoke at the UN. The team is known and loved far beyond New York.

Folk dances have proven to be quite an effective way to study the history of any nation. The head of the Kaleidoscope says that every time he learns a new dance of a nation with children, he shares with the pupils information about the history of this nation and the events that influenced its formation. These new knowledge for children are then necessarily expressed in dance.

Classes in "Kaleidoscope" make children healthier, happier and more successful. Physical activity improves mood, and regular rehearsals instill responsibility and self-confidence in the child. Valentin Usmanov constantly monitors the progress of his pupils at school and can say with confidence that dancing does not harm learning, but on the contrary, it increases the progress of children, makes them more organized.

“The feeling of self-importance and relevance is very important for a child. This is the first step towards responsibility. First, responsibility to your friends during rehearsals and performances, then responsibility in studies and behavior in the family. We are very closely monitoring the progress of our students at school and are in constant contact with all our parents. We are proud that children dance better every day, study more successfully. Our main task is not to train a professional dancer, but to teach a child to work,” Usmanov emphasized.
