The New York Department of Small Business Services is committed to helping more New Yorkers get trained and get their dream jobs. Pix11 We have compiled a list of free programs that will help you find a decent job.
There are currently six programs that recruit qualified candidates:
First Course NYC
First Course NYC is an eight-week course that will prepare you to work in the kitchen. The program provides hands-on training that will enable you to earn your NYC Food Protection Certificate.

Future Code: Diversifying the Future of Web Development in NYC
Future Code is a 37-week training program. It is designed to help New Yorkers find jobs in the technology industry. To participate in this project, New Yorkers must have “limited or no experience with basic coding, no paid professional experience in web development or similar experience, and no degree in computer science.”

Healthcare Finance and Operations
Previously, the Medical Billing program and the Healthcare Finance and Operations program collaborated with several organizations in the New York City medical industry. The free six-month course will prepare you for entry-level healthcare work.

Made in NY PA Training Program
The Made in NY PA training program aims to provide low-income New Yorkers with training to help them gain employment in the city's post-production industry. To be eligible for the program, you must attend information session.
NCLEX-RN Preparation for Foreign-Trained Nurses
The NCLEX-RN Preparation for Foreign-Trained Nurses curriculum helps those who have practiced as nurses in their home country take a short course, pass the exam, and become certified as a New York State Registered Nurse. The program offers distance learning in LaGuardia Community College and full-time in Lehman College. More information on how to apply can be found here.
NYC CoolRoof
The NYC CoolRoofs course is designed to help New York reach its goal of becoming a carbon neutral city by 2050. Through this project, New Yorkers will be able to participate in a 10-11 week training program that will provide them with experience in creating energy-efficient city roofs. Registration - here:.
Jobs NYC is a new website that aims to make jobs more accessible. It became part of a three-pronged plan developed by Mayor Eric Adams.
