A three-year-old tourist criticized New York: her review went viral on the Internet

They say that dreams come true in New York, but for one little girl it was a complete disappointment. The girl came to the city of dreams from Australia and was amazed at the amount of garbage in the city center. According to New York Post, the video with criticism received more than 20 million views.

The three-year-old tourist from Sydney, Australia, expected to see the streets of New York paved with gold, but was disappointed to find that the city did not smell the best and that the yellow lawns on the ground were not pools of precious metals.

“Mom, I don't like it here in New York. There's a lot of trash out here,” three-year-old Jett Blackman grumbled in a popular TikTok video that has racked up 21,5 million views. “You said it was beautiful here,” the girl said while walking through Times Square. “Mom, next time don’t lie—it’s not fun.”

The Little Critic went on to express her displeasure with Manhattan's crowded corners and how she feels the city is "copying" Australia with its McDonald's.

However, her attitude towards the city began to change when her older brother Nimo stated that he enjoyed exploring the sights. The little one even started happily humming Taylor Swift's “Shake It Off” as if the magic of New York had taken over her. “I’m even starting to like New York,” Jett finally admitted. “But there’s a lot of garbage here.”

Not everyone loves the best city in America

Social media users couldn't agree more with the child. “This is an honest review of New York,” commented a clearly not a fan of the five boroughs. “I've never been to New York, but I completely trust this review. Consider me under the influence,” another joked. “I'm crossing New York off my list of places to go,” another teased.

New Yorkers also supported the baby: “As a New Yorker, I approve of this statement.”
Despite the littered sidewalks and smelly drawbacks, not everyone feels put off or dissatisfied when visiting New York City.

A study conducted in June 2023 ranked New York as the best city in America. And a global study published in October called New York "the most exciting place in the world," pointing to Gramercy Park as its shining star.

“The area is associated with many famous people who now live here or have lived here in the past, including Julia Roberts, Rufus Wainwright, Karl Lagerfeld and Oscar Wilde. And Theodore Roosevelt was born here,” the researchers say.

“With such famous residents, a well-documented origin story, and an exclusive park, Gramercy Park is the primary location for nearly 2700 Wikipedia articles,” the authors added.
