Teacher Puts 5-Year-Old in Chokehold at Manhattan School: Toddler in Hospital, Teacher Arrested

On September 9, a 46-year-old teacher allegedly used a chokehold on a 5-year-old boy at an Upper Manhattan elementary school. The teacher was arrested, according to NYPost.
The shocking incident at PS 153 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Elementary School occurred around 13:30 p.m. on September 9.

Teacher Anthony Weeks has been taken into custody and is accused of actions, causing harm to the child.
It is not yet known what caused the alleged attack.
Not the first time
In September, a coach at James Madison High School in Brooklyn was charged with assault for allegedly slamming a 14-year-old student's head into a stairwell wall.
Coach Nicholas Nugent is understood to have become furious when a student dozed off during a video review.
In March 2023, a 33-year-old David N. Dinkins School teacher was arrested on assault charges for allegedly hitting an 8-year-old student.
