An orchid show opened at the New York Botanical Garden: what surprises this year

Every year, the New York Botanical Garden puts on a magnificent orchid show that transforms the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory into an oasis of tenderness and beauty. According to Secret nyc, during this show the botanical garden displays some of the most delicate flowers in the world.

The Orchid Show: Florals in Fashion this year will be held for the 21st time. The exhibition awaits guests from February 17 to April 21, 2024. The show will present designs by three authors:

• Collina Strada - a fashion platform promoting climate and social awareness by Hillary Taymour
• Dauphinette - a popular brand using preserved botanicals and recycled materials, by Olivia Cheng
• FLWR PSTL - created by the founder of the world's first botanical art studio, Kristen Alpaug.

The exhibition was inspired by the synergy between the botanical world and fashion. Each designer will showcase their personal take on this connection using colorful flowers and rare specimens from the collections of the botanical garden and beyond.

NYBG will invite visitors to “walk the orchid runway,” immersing themselves in the beauty of thousands of orchids and immersive installations.

In addition, “Orchid Nights” will return to NYBG. On select evenings, guests 21+ will be able to enjoy the exhibition after dark, as well as music, food and drinks. These evenings from 19:00 to 22:00 will take place on: Saturday, March 30; Friday, April 5; Saturday, April 6; Friday, April 12; Saturday, April 13; Friday, April 19; Saturday, April 20.
