From April 11 in New York, the fare on the bridges and tunnels of the MTA will rise. The details were told by the publication ABC7NY.
The increase in these tariffs in the city has been gradual, and this is the last round of increases.
Starting from April 11, the toll on MTA bridges and tunnels for drivers with E-ZPass will grow from $ 6,12 to $ 6,55. Those paying for their travel by mail (without using E-ZPass) will see an increase from $ 9,50 to $ 10,17.
An additional fee will also apply to those who do not have the E-ZPass installed properly. They will pay $ 8,36 to cover the cost of checking the vehicle registration.

The collection increase program is expected to generate up to $ 24 million in additional revenue annually.
And good news for Staten Island residents: the fare for them across the Verrazzano Bridge will remain at $ 2,75, rather than rising to $ 2,95 as expected.
New York City's subway and bus fare hikes have been postponed for now, probably until the summer.
