The Congress of Russian Americans (CRA) found a banner displayed on the Manhattan Mini Storage building in New York as discriminatory. The content of the banner is as follows: “Vote, because Russian lessons are expensive” (from English Vote, because Russian lessons are expensive).

The video of the banner itself was posted on the official page of Manhattan Mini Storage in Facebook.

The head of the organization, Natalya Sabelnik, suggested that the authors of the slogan meant the alleged interference of the Russian authorities in the American elections. However, she believes that this inscription discriminates against Russian-speaking residents of the United States.

Therefore, Congress sent a letter to the company urging them to dismantle the banner. “I do not expect an answer to the letter, but if they do, it will not be immediately. I am sure that first they will consult with their lawyer, ”Sabelnik added.

Recall that on September 24, representatives of the Facebook company said that they had identified and closed the network of Russian accounts due to the threat of interference in the US elections. The network included fictitious personalities that the company believed were associated with Russian military intelligence. While the accounts were not primarily targeted at the United States, there are concerns that such accounts could be used in Russian influence operations as the November US presidential election approaches.
