The woman's torso was found in a shopping cart in Brooklyn on the morning of March 3. A man stumbled across a shopping cart on Atlantic Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue in East New York around 1:45 a.m. ABC 7 NY.
He began pushing the cart before looking inside the bag, which he thought contained trash.
It was then that he discovered the body of an adult women, presumably of Hispanic origin, inside the bag.

The body does not appear to have decomposed. Officials say the woman had no gunshot or stab wounds. There also appeared to be no identifiable marks or tattoos on that part of her body.
Police officers searched the surrounding areas, but found no more body parts. Camera footage on Atlantic Avenue hasn't shown anything yet. Authorities will watch surveillance video to see who has left a shopping cart in the area.
A medical examiner will attempt to identify the woman and the cause of death. No arrests were made.
As news of the case spread, fear spread among the residents of the area as well.
“They say New York is the dream, the American dream, but I don't feel safe,” said resident Cynthia Jimenez. “I just want the city to be safe.”
