New York authorities decide to ban sales of gasoline cars in the state

Many New Yorkers will have to say goodbye to their favorite pickup truck. A law recently signed into law by Gov. Katie Hawkul will prohibit the sale of new cars and trucks running on gasoline or diesel by 2035. New York Post.
Last week, Governor Hawkul announced the impending ban. It is presented as part of the initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution that affect the climate.
"New York is implementing the nation's most aggressive plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that affect our climate," the governor said.
According to Hawkul, “We need to reduce emissions from the transport sector. It is currently the largest source of climate pollution in the state. ”

Hawkul said the new law and regulation marks an important milestone. They will help further the transition to clean electric vehicles. They will also help reduce emissions in communities suffering from decades of air pollution from cars.
Under the new law, new SUVs and equipment sold in New York are expected to have zero emissions by 2035. New medium and heavy duty vehicles by 2045.
