Moped thieves stole Apple headphones from 21 people in New York

A group of moped-riding scammers have stolen Apple headphones from the head of at least 21 people in the city over the past month, according to the NYPD. New York Post.
The group - usually four thieves on two mopeds - made its first attack on January 28. They snatched Apple AirPods Max from a 22-year-old on the corner of Ninth Avenue and West 26th Street in Chelsea. And then they drove away at speed.
Fraudsters have been mugging New Yorkers aged 18 to 41 throughout Manhattan over the past month, police said, including one in Central Park. They usually attack in the middle or end of the day.
They committed five headphone thefts on February 8th. Then, 10 days later, on February 18, they robbed eight people within an hour, NYPD Detective Chief James Essig told reporters on Friday.

The thieves remain at large, no arrests have been made yet.
“We have to catch these guys,” Essig said.
Police released photos of the two suspects.
