Cedar Grove Beach

Borough: Staten Island
Location: Ebbitts Street and Cedar Grove Avenue
Description: Cedar Grove Beach is smaller and somewhat quieter than neighboring Midland Beach and South Beach.

Manhattan beach

Borough: Brooklyn
Location: Atlantic Coast, Oriental Boulevard, Ocean Avenue to Mackenzie Street
Description: this is a small family beach for lovers of a relaxing holiday.

Midland beach

Borough: Staten Island
Location: Lower New York Bay
Description: Midland Beach shares the Franklin D. Roosevelt Boardwalk with neighboring South Beach. It is somewhat less crowded than South Beach.

Orchard beach

Borough: The Bronx
Location: on Long Island Sound in Pelham Bay Park
Description: This beach is called the "Riviera of New York". There is an embankment, a central pavilion, two playgrounds, 26 basketball, volleyball, handball and much more.

Rockaway beach

Borough: Queens
Location: Atlantic Coast from Beach 9th Street (Far Rockaway) to Beach 149th Street (Neponsit)
Description: This is the only beach in New York where you can legally surf. There are also playgrounds and other outdoor activities.
