'Lock the doors': a woman found a touching note from a stranger who spent the night in her car

Owning a car in New York almost certainly means parking on city streets, which involves the usual procedure of locking your doors at night. Chulani Sterling from the Bronx did just that, or so she thought. What happened in her car at night, the newspaper said NBC New York.

When she returned to the car the next day, she found a note left by a stranger.

“I opened the car door and the passenger seat was pushed back and then I saw a note on the dashboard,” she said.

The note said, “Thank you for letting me sleep in your car. Lock the doors next time. "

Sterling couldn't believe it.

“I kept asking myself, 'Is this serious?' That's all I could think of, ”she said. "Someone really left a note on the dashboard and slept in my car."

She said that whoever the stranger was, he didn't steal anything. Sterling still doesn't know how it happened.

“I could swear my car was locked because I pressed the button three times until it beep,” she said. “But obviously I did something wrong because the door was open.”

Sterling said it was pouring rain that night, and she is glad she inadvertently was able to give this stranger a place to sleep in this weather.

“It's a shame to realize this, and I know that this is not the only person looking for a place to sleep at this time,” she said, adding that she would like to see desperate people have more places to sleep comfortably and safe.
