Woman beats police officer with her crutch for stopping her son

A 47-year-old Long Island woman was arrested for hitting a police officer with her crutch. And then spitting at others after they stopped her son for driving with a suspended license, сообщает NBC New York.
Melinda Medina was arrested on July 5 in Levittown around 14:00 pm.
Police stopped Medina's 20-year-old son at the Hempstead Turnpike. He was driving with an expired New York State inspection sticker and a suspended license. Nassau County Police said Medina showed up at the scene and began behaving violently towards the police.
After the attack, she was taken into custody and taken to the hospital for examination. While in hospital custody, Medina punched a police officer in the face and damaged his camera. Other officers suffered various injuries during her arrest because she was belligerent.

Medina's son was issued fines for traffic violations and released, the woman is accused of assault, criminal disorderly conduct and obstruction of public administration.
Medina is expected to be charged later.
