On Sunday morning, November 26, a knife-wielding man was arrested in Manhattan for trying to drag his mother to an ATM by her hair, threatening to kill her, the New York Post reported.
Police detained the deranged man around 8:30 a.m. on West 43rd Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. The police were called by a girl who was walking her dog nearby.
“He held her by the hair, pushed her,” said witness Hannah Canerday. “She tried to resist. I asked if everything was okay because I didn’t see that he had a knife,” Canerday explained.
“Then he said ‘stop talking’ and said he was going to kill her,” she said. “Then I saw the knife as they walked past me, so I called 911.” According to law enforcement sources, two police officers were injured during the arrest of the man: one of them received a hand injury when he took the knife from him, and the other received a knee injury.

Photos from the scene show the suspect dressed in a fancy red and blue suit, reminiscent of a jester's outfit, as he was handcuffed and placed on a stretcher in a nearby ambulance.
