Summer water activities are once again available to New Yorkers. Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse will provide its kayaks so that visitors can enjoy kayaking with breathtaking views for free. Secret NYC.
Weather permitting, free boat trips from Pier 2 will take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting June 1st through the end of September.
You don't need kayaking experience to ride one. The organizers advise to wear waterproof clothes and shoes, as the feet and the seat can get a little wet. There will also be a rescue boat on the water should you need any assistance.
Preliminary registration required for all sessions, it will open in two weeks. The Brooklyn Bridge Conservancy recommends wearing masks in crowded areas and maintaining social distancing whenever possible. You can read all about it here.
