A Brooklyn resident is suing former New York Mayor Bill de Blasio. She tripped on the uneven pavement near his house and knocked out four dental crowns, reports New York Post.
Carol Kolb-King said in the lawsuit that de Blasio, his wife Chirlaine McCray, their neighbors and the City of New York were at fault for the June incident.
The Dec. 22 lawsuit alleges they knew the sidewalk in front of their 11th Street property had crumbled, but "deliberately and negligently" failed to fix it. The document says De Blasio and McCrae were aware of the pavement's "dangerous condition" because they filed formal complaints with the city about the "uneven" pavement.
The former New York mayor's neighbors, retired Judge Margaret Kummer and artist Joan Snyder, also knew about the unsafe sidewalk, Kolb-King claims.
The essence of the incident
On June 25, Kolb-King was walking to the post office to mail a check to her nephew when she tripped on the sidewalk. Her foot was caught in a 3 cm hole in the pavement near de Blasio's house.

The woman fell face down and knocked out four dental crowns. According to her, she implanted them just a year before. She also bruised her knee and tore her meniscus.
A passer-by noticed that Kolb-King was covered in blood and called 911.
The woman suffered "serious injuries" to her mouth, face and jaw, as well as "psychological suffering" from the fall, the lawsuit says.
“Her injuries required about $5000 in medical bills and prevented her from doing her normal business,” said her attorney, Ezra Glaser.
The lawyer added that the woman still required a series of dental procedures and physical therapy sessions.
