Over 10 New York Bars Featured in America's Best Bars

The World's 50 Best Restaurants Consortium has been naming the best restaurants from around the world since 2002. And since 2009, it has been celebrating the most outstanding bars. Every year, experts from near and far identify these special places for food and cocktails. Time-out.

Katana Kitten was ranked #10 in the last issue of New York. And on June 7, 2022, the first awards for the top 50 bars in North America were announced at a ceremony at the Capitale in Manhattan.

Number one position in all of North America Attaboy from the Lower East Side

“We take our hats off to Attaboy, Sam Ross and Michael McIlroy's legendary bar, which is now celebrating 10 years of making cocktail history,” Mark Sansom, North America's Top 50 Bars Content Director, said in a press release. “Despite its modest size, it has had a huge impact on the way we drink, not only in New York and the US, but around the world. Through Haley Traub's energetic leadership and continuous innovation, we see this legacy shine brightly into the future.”

Attaboy first opened on Eldridge Street in 2012 in what used to be the famed Milk and Honey. It ranks at the top of Time Out New York's list of the city's best bars and best eateries.

And its owner Masahiro Urushido was awarded the bartender award. The sophisticated cocktails and impeccable service of this bar are playfully combined with its rugged atmosphere. It has everything from vintage pop culture posters to checkerboard floors and rainbow garlands. This is a noisy two-level bar where young people hang out sipping trendy cocktails.

In eighth place Dante Alighieri

The appeal of Dante is simple and classic, but at the same time far from old-fashioned. Take a seat at the dark wood bar or sidewalk table and you'll understand why it's been preserved in New York for 100 years. Come here for the negroni, taste the local pasta and just enjoy the atmosphere.
