Free Outdoor Fitness: NYC Summer Workout Schedule

If you didn’t have time to get in shape by the summer or you did, but want to keep it up, then the best option is outdoor training. They have a lot of benefits: stress reduction, better sleep and mental health, and of course, charming views of New York.
Here are some free outdoor fitness classes in NYC that will help you build muscle while getting a healthy dose of vitamin D.
Healthy on the Hudson
Healthy on the Hudson transforms the scenic expanses of Hudson River Park into riverside gyms. From Monday to Friday, yoga and tabata classes are held here for citizens of all skill levels. All sessions are free, however registration required.

Bryant Park Yoga
One-hour yoga classes in Bryant Park will be held twice a week all summer until September. Groups fill up quickly, so be sure to book a seat in advance and don't forget to bring your mat!
Yoga classes are held on the following days:
- on Tuesdays – 10:00 am at Upper Terrace;
- on Wednesdays – 18:00 at Lawn.

Seaport fit
Seaport Fit offers a variety of workouts including high intensity interval training (HIIT) and yoga. You can reserve your place here.
- on Tuesdays: HIIT the Deck - 18:30, Seaport Square;
- on Saturdays: Lyons Den Power Yoga - 10:30, Heineken Riverdeck.
Additional special events will take place every month featuring well-known fitness experts. They will host classes, panel discussions and more. For example, on Thursday, July 13 at 18:30 pm Seaport Fit Plus Up x Rachel Fitness (full body strength training). The event will take place at The Rooftop on Pier 17.
Flatiron Fitness Series
Enjoy free outdoor fitness classes led by local studios Flatiron and NoMad. They are held at Flatiron South Public Plaza at 18:00 with the following schedule:
- 12 of July: Life Time's MB360
- 19 of July: Bredwinners: Slimmer Driller
- 26 of July: Equinox NoMad: Mat Pilates
- 2 of August: Power Pilates Open Mat
- 9 of August: bodi nyc: HIIT 50
