Dog walker chokes and beats animals, leaving some seriously injured

A New York man who worked for a dog grooming organization was arrested after he swung dogs over his head with a leash and threw them to the ground, according to reports.
Andrew Laurendi, 21, was arrested Sunday evening on animal cruelty charges, the Nassau County Police Department said. He allegedly threw the dogs into a fence, seriously injuring at least one of them.
Laurendi worked at a dog center, Nassau County police said. Pawllywood in Massapequa, and the video they obtained shows him swinging dogs over his head by a leash attached to the animal's neck.
One of the dogs was seriously injured when it crashed into a fence. Laurendi was charged with animal cruelty, torture or mutilation of an animal, and failure to provide food for the animal.
He was fired from the organization. He is due to appear in court on December 21.
