Road brawl in New York ends in murder in front of children

As a result of a road incident on July 12 in Manhattan, a resident of Long Island was killed. It all started with a small accident and a fight between a 54-year-old pickup truck driver and a 26-year-old owner of a car with Pennsylvania license plates. The men had a tense verbal conflict that quickly got out of control. New York Post.
The East 60th Street incident began as a minor traffic accident between a large Chevy pickup truck and a Volkswagen Jetta. According to police, a woman and three small children were in the car of Andre Mosby, the driver of the Volkswagen.
Roberto Alvarez stepped out of his Chevy with a knife and slashed the tires of a Volkswagen. In response, the Volkswagen driver pressed the gas pedal and knocked Alvarez down. The victim was thrown onto the pavement, he flew into the window of the Oxford Café, breaking the glass.
Witnesses say that the rescuers who arrived intensively carried out resuscitation measures, Alvarez was taken to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Mosby remained at the scene and was taken to police for questioning. He told detectives he acted in self-defense. Witnesses to the incident told detectives that they believed the Volkswagen driver feared for the safety of his wife and three children who were in the car.
The police are now investigating this as a homicide. Mosby is charged with manslaughter.
