Authorities say two teenage brothers drowned in a New Jersey school swimming pool while at least three lifeguards watched. New York Post.
The Zheng and Jiang brothers were at the end of the pool at the Lincoln Public School in Bayonne on Wednesday, June 8, when rescuers noticed they were in distress and unable to surface. It happened around 20:30 pm, Bayonne police said.
Three guards jumped into the water, pulled the brothers out and began to give them artificial respiration. Of course, they called 911. The paramedics arrived a few minutes later.

The boys were then taken to the Bayonne Medical Center, but they could not be saved.

According to Bayonne Public Schools superintendent John Nees, the 16-year-old attended Bayonne High School, while his 19-year-old brother recently graduated.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and to our entire community,” Nies said in a statement. “We will hold crisis counseling in all schools.”
The Bayonne Police Department and School District, the school's insurance company, and OSHA are conducting independent investigations into the drowning.
The Bayonne School District is organizing a fundraiser on behalf of the boys' family. Weekend fundraisers by gift cards at the Korpi ice rink.
