Views on the coast of New York and New Jersey will change: a large wind farm will be built in the ocean

The administration of US President Joe Biden plans to build a large wind farm off the coast of New Jersey. The construction approval procedure has already been launched. Writes about it "Voice of America".
The construction is part of a large-scale project to increase power generation. According to the plan, this wind farm will supply more than 2030 million residential buildings with electricity by 10 across the country.
The White House said that achieving this goal means providing employment for more than 44 workers and another 33 people in related industries.
The power plant will also help cut carbon emissions by 78 million tonnes per year, a key step in the fight against global warming.
“President Joe Biden believes we have a tremendous opportunity to not only confront the threats of climate change, but also to use this situation as an opportunity to create millions of well-paid jobs that will contribute to the economic recovery of the United States,” said White House Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy.
The United States has also announced its intention to prepare an official environmental analysis of the Ocean Wind project off the coast of New Jersey. If implemented, the project could become the third largest commercial wind farm in the United States.

The US Department of the Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management said it is targeting offshore wind projects in shallow waters between Long Island and the New Jersey coast.
A recent study found that the area could create up to 25 construction jobs.
The Ocean Wind power plant, located 24 kilometers from New Jersey, is slated to produce about 2024 megawatts per year when it goes online in 1100, enough to power 500 homes.
The Department previously announced an environmental review of the Vineyard Wind projects in Massachusetts and the South Fork about 56 kilometers from Montauk on Long Island, New York.

The former is expected to generate around 800 megawatts of electricity, while the latter is expected to generate around 132 megawatts.
Despite the huge interest in offshore wind energy, it is still in the early stages of development in the United States, significantly inferior in terms of the level of European development.
A small wind farm operates off Block Island in Rhode Island-controlled waters. Another small wind farm operates off the Virginia coast.
The three mentioned large projects, which are under development, belong to European companies or their subsidiaries.
However, not everyone is happy with the development of offshore wind energy. Fishing organizations from Maine to Florida have expressed concerns that large offshore wind farms could render vast ocean areas inaccessible to their operations.
