The situation in New York
As of June 29, the lowest number of hospital admissions and the average number of deaths from coronavirus since the outbreak of a pandemic were recorded in New York. This was announced on Monday by state governor Andrew Cuomo.
Cuomo recalled that not so long ago in New York, about 800 deaths were recorded daily. "Today we have eight (deaths a day - Ed."), - he said.
On Sunday, June 28, 853 hospitalizations due to coronavirus were recorded throughout the state. It was the lowest since March 18th. According to New York State, only 391 of the more than 46 tested that day had a positive result for the virus.

Cuomo stressed that New York was more affected by the coronavirus than other regions of the United States. Four of the seven largest counties in the country for coronavirus-related deaths are New York City boroughs. The state of New York, where more than 31 people have died, accounts for nearly a quarter of all deaths caused by COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins University.
What happens in other states
While New York rates have fallen significantly, the spread of coronavirus in other parts of the country is increasing. At the same time, states such as Florida, Arizona, Texas, and California record significantly higher rates of new cases per day than two weeks ago.
Given this, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut introduced quarantine for arriving from many states where the situation with COVID-19 has escalated. Residents of these states will have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine upon arrival.

The states whose residents are to be quarantined upon arrival in the Tri-state area include: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Utah, and Texas.
