About ten people hijacked the MTA's New York City bus and threw a party in it. The young people smoked, drank and danced. The incident happened at about 4 am Sunday, August 9, in the Queens area. There were no passengers on the bus at such an early time.

The driver of the vehicle contacted the supervisor to report what was happening. But the crowd left the bus before the arrival of the MTA representatives. “This group of people not only put themselves at risk (they were all without masks), but more importantly, they put the bus driver at risk,” commented MTA President Craig Cipriano on the incident.
The New York City Police Department did not comment on the incident and did not say if there was any investigation.

The publication clarified that a group of young people entered the MTA bus # 7239 when the driver had just left the Grand Avenue depot. The bus was blocked by two cars, after which a crowd rushed into it. The driver tried, but failed to stop the troublemakers.
The illegal party lasted about 30 minutes. The young people smoked, drank and danced. Several people even got naked. At the same time, all participants were without protective masks and did not maintain a safe distance.
According to MTA officials, the group "violated several health and safety laws" and endangered the driver of the vehicle. “Later the bus was completely disinfected. An internal audit is currently underway, ”the statement said.
It is also noted that the driver was not injured and the bus was not damaged.
