3 days without a single death from COVID-19: New York sets a new record

For three days in a row, there were no deaths from the coronavirus in New York. However, residents are advised not to relax, wear masks and maintain social distance. About what threatens the progress achieved, the newspaper writes New York Post.
As of August 5, only two deaths from COVID-19 have been reported in five boroughs in New York. Statewide, there were four new coronavirus deaths on Wednesday, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
This is a huge decrease compared to how many people died from the virus in the spring. Back then, the state health department recorded hundreds of coronavirus deaths every day. “Our progress is due to the hard work of New Yorkers — even after two and a half months of reopening, the numbers continue to decline,” Cuomo said. “But we learned from this crisis that no one can be safe until everyone is safe. Infection outbreaks across the country threaten this progress, so we must continue to wear masks and maintain social distancing in New York. ”

The total number of confirmed deaths in the Empire State is 25 since the start of the pandemic.
In the meantime, the state's infection rate is 0,87% of the approximately 72 test results obtained; while in New York City, for three days in a row, this figure was 1%.
