New York police named suspects in the theft of 400 bulletproof vests destined for Ukraine: city residents are asked to help in search

The police are looking for a gang of thieves who stole hundreds of bulletproof vests, which the New York law enforcers collected for transfer to the Ukrainian military. The suspects took about 400 vests from the headquarters of the Ukrainian Committee of the Congress of America and the Ukrainian National Women's League of America, reports New York Daily News.
Thieves stole the vests on March 15 from the organizations' offices on Second Avenue near 13th Street in the East Village.

On May 6, police released photos of the six suspects. Some of them were carrying large garbage bags that were believed to contain stolen vests.
A photo of a white van is also available. One of the three vehicles allegedly used during the robbery.
