A couple from Michigan came to New York to find their son: no contact with him for 3 months

The parents of a young man who went missing in downtown New York three months ago came to the city from Michigan hoping to find their son. Kelly Tolstoy from Detroit and her husband Tom Campbell are trying to find 26-year-old Drexil Tolstoy, reports ABC7.

“He seemed to have disappeared from the face of the planet,” says Kelly Tolstoy.

Drexil Fat, who lived on the Upper West Side, was last seen on September 25 leaving work on East 32nd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. Tolstoy works as a tattoo artist at Black Fish Tattoo.

Kelly Tolstoy assured that she spoke to him later that evening, and then his phone went dead.

“There has never been such a thing that he did not get in touch for several days,” she said.

Drexil did not show up for work the next day. He left all his clothes and medicines in the apartment.

Kelly Tolstoy noticed that Drexil had no wallet or papers. About a week before she disappeared, her son told her that someone had stolen his wallet or that he had lost it. She can't remember exactly.

“We miss him very much,” Campbell explained. “We just want to find him.”

For the past three months, Kelly Tolstoy has been calling hospitals and morgues in New York from her home in Michigan. On December 19, she and Campbell got into the car and drove into the city. On Wednesday, the parents spent all day walking the streets of Midtown looking for Drexil.

“Wherever we went – ​​on the subway, on the train, to any store – we took out our phones and showed a photo of Drexil,” said the mother of the missing guy.

He was last seen wearing a red hoodie with "Yung, Lean and Sad Boys" written on it.

He has tattoos on both hands and fingers. One of them on the left side of his neck reads: “Drexil, I love you and I'm proud of you! With love - mother. Kelly Tolstoy said the NYPD told her they didn't find any activity on Drexil's MetroCard.

"They don't have any leads, any information that we don't already have," she chagrined.

Tolstoy and Campbell plan to return to Detroit on December 26.

“Christmas in New York. Maybe we'll be lucky and he'll show up by then. And if not, then we’ll just be here at the same time and celebrate Christmas in the same city, just not together,” Tolstoy said with tears in her eyes.
