On May 6, the Newburgh, New York City Police Department arrested a 17-year-old local resident for threatening to blow up a school. The details were told by the publication Hudson Valley Post.

The teen posted the threat on social media, police said. It was directed towards the Newburgh Free Academy's North Campus.
“I PLACED A BOMB IN THE BACK OF THE GYM,” the social media post read in capital letters. - I WILL BREAK EVERYONE INTO SMALL PIECES :)”.
On May 9, the students of the institution were taken outside, and the sappers checked the building itself.
The juvenile, whose name has not been released, has been charged with making a terrorist threat and making a false report of a threat, both charges that fall under the Class D felony classification.
“Due to the age of the perpetrator, we do not disclose his name. He was charged in an Orange County court. He was released on bail until the next court hearing,” the Newburgh City Police Department said in a press release.
