New York may face another blizzard this week, which could pour up to a foot (30 cm) of snow onto the city. The forecast was shared by the publication New York Post.
At the same time, New York is still clearing snow after several winter storms that hit the metropolis last week.
On the morning of February 9, fine snow fell in the city (snow cover was about an inch - 2,5 cm). And on the evening of February 11, heavy snowfall will begin, which will last for about a day. The city can be covered with snow cover from 6 to 12 inches (15-30 cm) thick.
Stormy weather is caused by what meteorologists call the "displacement" of the polar vortex. As a result of the displacement of cold Arctic air from the North Pole to the south, many countries in the northern hemisphere are facing cold weather and snowfall.

Despite frost and snow in the morning, by noon on February 9, the air temperature will rise above zero Celsius, and the snow that has fallen will melt.
The air temperature on February 11 will be around 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-7 Celsius), with about the same temperature expected on Friday and weekends.
According to meteorologists, the city has already received twice as much snow as usual for this time of year. Most of it fell early last week when the storm threw more than 17 inches (43 cm) of snow onto the city.
New York City has received a total of 32,5 inches this season - four more than the 28,5-inch average for the entire season, according to AccuWeather.
The total amount of snow this season is already more than 6 times that of last year's 4,8 inches.

Experts predict that in the northeast and midwest of the United States, winter weather will "continue throughout March." This could include several severe winter storms, with the potential for snowfall in early April.
