The deceased's name was Vlad Mosyuk, he was only 16 years old. Vlad was born in the USA, and his parents immigrated here from Ukraine, writes Prykarpattya.
“He was really caring and friendly. He had many friends. So many people loved him, ”said his classmate and close friend Olivia Cunningham.
Vlad died in a three-car accident on Thursday, May 13, on the winding section of Congers Road in New City, Rockland County.
He was a passenger on a black sedan with a 17-year-old girl who was seriously injured.
Police charged the driver, 18-year-old Alan Mendoza, with drunk driving, reckless driving and manslaughter.
Mendoza and his two passengers are all students at Clarkstown North High School.
“When a 16-year-old dies in Clarkstown, it really breaks our hearts. This is a terrible tragedy and could have been completely prevented, ”said Clarkstown City Superintendent George Hemann.

He says this is another shock for local families. This came just 12 days after the death of Suffern High School student Jacqueline Zangrilli, who died in an accident when her car overturned.
The two deaths in less than two weeks have led to much talk about the dangers of drunk driving.
“If you’re in this predicament, call your parents, call Uber, don’t get into the car with someone driving after a drink,” said Claudine Cunningham, the mother of one of the students at the local school.
Local authorities understand that more needs to be done to educate teenagers about the dangers of drunk driving and are devising a strategy on how to do it.
On the portal GoFundMe a fundraiser was organized to help pay Vlad's medical bills and funeral expenses.
