Consulate General of Ukraine in New York resumes reception of citizens: what you need to know

On June 15, after partial removal of quarantine, the Consulate General of Ukraine in New York reinstates the consular reception of citizens in the obligatory pre-appointment mode. This agency reported on your facebook page.

Despite some stabilization of the situation in the USA, in particular in New York, the danger posed by COVID-19 has not completely disappeared. Therefore, we ask you to help organize the work of the Consulate General in such a way as to minimize the risk of coronavirus infection for both visitors and staff.

The purpose of the implemented consular reception by appointment only is to avoid crowding, because each of you, having pre-booked for a specific time, will minimally intersect with other visitors to the institution.

The practice of preliminary electronic appointments for passport issues (since 2018) indicates that visitors often arrive long before the time specified in the registration. Under current special conditions, this can pose a threat to one's own health and the health of others.

Accordingly, taking into account the recommendations of the authorities of New York on working with visitors / clients / consumers of services, etc., the Consulate General has prepared Rules for visiting the department and working with applicants, which are binding. Violation of these rules will give consuls the right to refuse consular acts and consular services.

IMPORTANT! Until June 15, the Consulate General of Ukraine in New York will continue to work exclusively remotely, without receiving visitors, resolving only urgent issues of an emergency nature. Rules for visiting the consulate and working with applicants

Appointment

1. To make an appointment with a view to issuing a new biometric passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad, you must, as before, register in the electronic appointment system by link.

The issuance of ready-made passports, as before, will be carried out without prior appointment in a live queue on the days and hours indicated on the page of the Consulate General.

2. To make an appointment on all other issues (certification of powers of attorney, applications, other notarial acts, citizenship issues, registration of identity cards for returning to Ukraine, requesting documents from Ukraine, etc.), you must call 212-371-6965 and receive confirmation about registration. Making an appointment with this phone number is possible from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 12:00.

The issuance of ready-made powers of attorney, applications, citizenship certificates and other documents will be carried out on the day of contacting the department, but in the afternoon (the consul will determine the exact time for receiving the documents at the time of reception).

Punctuality

It is necessary to come to the Consulate General clearly at the time of your registration - no earlier than 15 minutes. However, do not be late. Before the appointed time, they will not be able to accept you, and then you will have to wait outside. If you are late, you will lose your time and will be forced to re-register for another day and time.

Responsibility

If you wait for your turn on the street, you must observe the "social distance", using special marks on the sidewalk "X" for this.

Compliance with quarantine rules

At the Consulate General you must wear a protective mask and, preferably, protective gloves. A dispenser with an antiseptic is installed in the office of the department, which we strongly recommend to use before you start communicating with the consul.

Preparing for the visit

Prepare for the visit in advance. Before visiting the Consulate General, you must fill out the necessary applications, make appropriate copies and purchase a money order for a certain amount to pay the consular fee. If you come unprepared, you will not only spend your time, but also slow down the overall queue, which is scheduled in minutes.

But if for some reason you cannot visit the Consulate General at your appointed time, cancel the visit or reschedule it for another time.
