In 2020, a Bluetooth speaker in the park - wearing masks and a safe 1,5 meters away from strangers - was the only summer entertainment available to us. But with the opening of the city and the gradual lifting of quarantine, our prospects for this summer have changed. The list of interesting events this summer was compiled by the publication New York Post.
Music
Forest Hills Stadium
The former US Open tennis court will host many musicians this summer. Artists slated to take the stage at this stadium include Bright Eyes (July 31) and Wilco (August 21). And the season ends with two rock concerts - My Morning Jacket and Brittany Howard on September 10 and 11, respectively.

SummerStage in Central Park
This summer, New York City's main park will be filled with music from a variety of artists, from jazz played by trumpet player Chris Botti on June 20 to astro-funk George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic on June 27. The groups Lake Street Dive (August 24) and Dawes (September 17) will also perform there. To wrap up the season, Machine Gun Kelly will rock the park on September 13th.

Rooftop at Pier 17
One of the best new venues on Manhattan's music map will feature an entire army of artists this season. Following Rise Against on July 30, Blues Traveler (August 4), Pink Martini (August 12) and Jason Mraz (August 21) will perform there. Bleachers (September 12), Machine Gun Kelly (September 14) and Lord Huron (September 16) will follow in September.

James Taylor and Jackson Brown at Jones Beach
If you love 1970s music, you will definitely love the August 27 concert, and ticket prices start at just $ 50.

Celebrate Brooklyn!
The concert series will kick off on July 31st with a performance by Ari Lennox. British rock group Glass Animals (August 31), Colombian-Canadian singer-songwriter Lido Pimienta (August 21), reggae artist Skip Marley (August 13) will also perform in front of Brooklynians.

Trey Anastasio at the Beacon Theater

Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer at Citi Field
This is just a dream concert for punk pop lovers. Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer were originally supposed to appear at Citi Field in 2020, but the pandemic has made its own adjustments. Therefore, you can be sure that these groups are ready to perform on August 4th and will definitely tear up the hall.

Broadway in the tavern
This is the meeting of two iconic New York sites: Broadway and the famous Tavern on the Green restaurant in Central Park. A concert series titled "Tavern Broadway" invites the stars of the stage to an idyllic al fresco diner. Before the artists enter the stage, you can enjoy delicious seafood dishes. Ariana DeBoz from West Side Story and Shoshana Bean (The Waitress, Evil) will perform on June 8 and 9, respectively.

Comedy at Union Hall

Restart Stages at Lincoln Center
The 66th Street complex has transformed its square into a lush garden and now hosts musical and theatrical performances. Performers include Juilliard students and renowned jazz musician Eddie Palmieri (June 5).

Brooklyn Film Fest has always been famous for unique films that amaze and surprise. It will take place in the city on June 4-13.

Rooftop Movies in Our Wicked Lady
The cool Our Wicked Lady Bar hosts movie nights on the rooftop every week on Mondays. The screen is small, but the atmosphere is very pleasant. Next in line are the screenings of Interview with the Vampire (June 14), Crybaby (June 21) and Snake Flight (June 28). To visit, you need to confirm vaccination against COVID-19.
