Protesters smashed a window at the famous Carbone Cafe in Greenwich Village, injuring a client. The incident took place on the evening of June 4, writes New York Post.
A group of demonstrators marched outside the cafe at about 20:15. The most active of them broke a window in a popular Italian-American establishment. The police are investigating this act of vandalism.
Due to the scattered debris, a woman sitting at a table on the summer terrace of the institution received cuts on her shoulder. She refused medical attention because the injuries were minor.
The victim was in a group of eight campers and they continued their dinner after the incident. They were still in the cafe when workers replaced the broken glass with new ones about two hours later.
Despite the incident, the band seemed to be in good spirits.

The rally on Thursday, June 4, was part of the Stonewall Protests, which gather weekly in Greenwich Village and march around Manhattan. This series of protests coincides with the 1969 anniversary of the Stonewall Riots for LGBT rights in New York.
Restaurant staff declined to comment on the vandalism, but New York City police condemned the incident.
“Businesses across New York are still recovering from last year. Deliberately harming business is not helping anyone, ”the department said in a statement.
