From January 31 to 12:00 on February 2, one and a half feet (45 cm) of snow fell in New York. Yes, this led to school closings on Monday and Tuesday, disruptions to transportation, and power outages: at one point in the storm, about 20 New Yorkers were left without electricity. But all this pales against the background of how beautiful the snow made New York, a real winter fairy tale.
