Tourists are offered a completely free holiday in Finland: they will teach you to be happy there

Finland holds the title of the happiest country in the world for the sixth year in a row.

This Scandinavian country tops the rankings with a score that, according to a report released this week, World Happiness Report 2023, “significantly outperforms all other countries.” The report takes into account factors such as average income, mental and physical health.

Visit Finland offers ten people the chance to come to the country and learn how to be happy like the Finns.

“Master class of happiness” by Visit Finland will take place over 4 days in June at the luxurious Kuru complex in Finland's Lake District. Visit Finland takes care of all travel and accommodation costs, including a private room, access to a private sauna and spa, and other "essential amenities".

Call for applications open until 2 April. Applicants are asked to make a short video (for TikTok or Reels) explaining why they “may secretly be Finns”. Participants will be filmed during the visit - the footage will then be used to advertise Visit Finland.

Heli Jimenez, senior director of the government organization Business Finland, said Finland's national happiness "comes from our close connection with nature and our down-to-earth lifestyle: it's not some mystical state."

“It's a skill that can be learned,” she emphasized.
