After a tumultuous presidential term and the storming of the Capitol, the name of Donald Trump has acquired some negative connotations in New York, and this affects his assets. Trump-branded buildings in Manhattan have lost half their value since 2016, when Trump was elected President of the United States, according to an analysis by real estate agency UrbanDigs. The analysis was shared by the publication Business Insider.
UrbanDigs examined seven luxury buildings in Manhattan bearing Trump's name on their façades, and three buildings that previously had a sign with Trump's name but dropped it. It turned out that even those properties that previously had the word Trump in their names have lost 17% of their value since the end of 2016. By comparison, the average decline in the cost per square foot of property in Manhattan was only 9% over the same period.
According to the report, in 2016, the average price per square foot in seven properties in New York City managed by the Trump Organization was $ 3. In 346, after Trump's election and inauguration, this figure fell to $ 2017; by 1, it was $ 903. This is 2020% lower than the price in 1.
