Residents of New York will write off part of the debts on alimony

The City of New York's Pay It Off program helps New York City residents reduce the amount they owe child support.
The program, which runs from October 17 to October 31, 2022, will double the amount of child support you pay to the New York City Department of Social Services, up to the full repayment of the debt, if any. In order to be eligible for the program, that is, to receive a doubling of the amount, you must contribute at least $ 500 towards repayment of child support debt.
Note: if you have no debt and are making current support payments, there will be no doubling of the amount under the Pay It Off program. It only applies to debt.
How Pay It Off works
Step 1. Sign the agreement
In order to use the program, you need to sign a special agreement. Here you can download the agreement in Russian. Submit the completed and signed agreement between October 17th and October 31st by email or in person:

Step 2. Make a payment
Make a payment of $500 or more for child support arrears between October 17 and October 31. Payments must be received no later than October 31, 2022 if you want the agency to double the amount you contributed.
Payments must be accompanied by a signed agreement (it was mentioned in the first paragraph). If you are sending the agreement separately, please specify when and how the payment will be sent.
Make payments due at the NYS Child Support Processing Center.
When paying, indicate the case identification number (case ID) and mark the use of the Pay it off program.
Step 3. Get double the amount paid
OCSS will send you a summary of the actions taken 4-5 weeks after receiving the agreement and payment.
