Spring in New York is not only about time cherry blossoms and festival tulips. Many exciting events take place here at this time, and the city is preparing for Easter according to the Catholic rite.
It doesn’t matter whether you go to church on this day or celebrate the Holy Resurrection of Christ on another day, the weekend should be spent brightly and unforgettably. For example, go to the Easter Bonnet Parade, go to egg hunt or spend the day in one of state parks.
1. Easter Parade and Hat Festival
This parade is all about the hats, from the dainty to the quirky. Anyone can take part in it - just show up near St. Patrick's Cathedral at 10:00 on the Holy Resurrection of Christ (March 31, 2024). You can just watch or walk with a group along Fifth Avenue.
The tradition dates back to the 1870s, so some participants will be seen in period costumes. But the main thing is the intricate caps, some of which are simply amazing. Everyone is welcome. The only requirement is a hat: the fancier it is, the better.
2. Easter cruises with City Cruises
Board a City Cruises ship on Sunday, March 31st for a festive meal on the water. 3. Springtopia in the Seaport
On Saturday, March 30th from 11:00 am to 14:00 pm, head to Seaport Square and Pier 17 for the Easter Festival. Dancing, wreath making, egg hunts, photo ops with the Easter Bunny and more. The event will include both free and ticketed entertainment, so be sure to check out broker before visiting.
4. Easter in Children's Museum of Manhattan

5. Easter mystery
Impromptu Easter-themed mystery show Egged to Death from Pork Side Ranch sure to get a laugh. The improv group is known for seamlessly combining comedy, musicals, music, dance and other forms of live entertainment into one huge, hilarious show.
This show features Jared Kirsch, Ryan Wallace, Alida Zimmerman, Elika Plan, Julian Shapiro-Barnum, Jess Elgin, Edson Montenegro, Sloane Brettholtz and Philip Markle. 6. Orchid show: flowers in fashion
With their vibrant colors, delicate frills and dramatic shapes, orchids love to make a statement.
Three up-and-coming designers have created large-scale installations inspired by these fashionable colors. In one of them you will see orchids turned into avant-garde clothing, in the other - the regal queen of orchids. Artificial intelligence created anthropomorphic creatures that wear floral outfits in the last, third section. Exhibition Florals in Fashion runs from February 17 to April 21 at NYBG in the Bronx. Adult tickets cost $35.
