A man killed a 3-month-old daughter, and then threw the body in the forest: the criminal was handed over by his father

In the Bronx, in the woods along the highway, the police found a dead 3-month-old baby. The 23-year-old father of the baby, Damion Komagera, was arrested. He is accused of murder. The edition told in more detail ABC7NY.

Komager told the baby's grandfather that he was shaking her because she wouldn't stop crying. He later discovered that his daughter Genevieve was dead.

Komager panicked and put the baby in a bag before dumping her on Major Deegan Highway, just a few blocks from the temporary shelter where they lived.

The baby's grandfather told the priest what had happened, and the priest wanted to "do the right thing" by calling the police.

Detectives questioned Comagera and the child's mother, 20-year-old Ivana Paolozzi.

The police spent several hours combing the area on University Avenue. By 20:00 p.m., Genevieve's body was found in the woods under a pedestrian overpass on the Highbridge site.

Authorities said Paolozzi was also charged with hiding the body and obstructing law enforcement.

When asked by reporters about the girl, Komager replied: "I love my daughter." When asked if he shook the baby, he replied, "It was a mistake."

Sources say Komager is originally from Louisiana and has been arrested there several times before. He and Paolozzi moved to New York in December, and Genevieve was born in February.

Neighbors say this tragedy would not have happened if they had just asked for help.

“This child deserves a life. I don't care about circumstances. There is a fire station, take this child and throw him there,” said one of the neighbors.

An autopsy was performed, but the official cause of death has not yet been determined. The NYPD says they are treating the death as a homicide.

Authorities say Komagher and Paolozzi will face criminal trial on May 31.
