School principal in Brooklyn staged genocide of white teachers

According to a federal lawsuit filed this month, the headmaster of a school in Brooklyn committed genocide against white teachers and retaliated against a Hispanic whistleblower for reporting grading fraud and other misconduct at the school. The details were told by the edition New York Post.

Plaintiff David Rivera claims the director harmed his career by sending teachers to a redistribution center for allegedly breaking the rules. The defendant is Claudette Christie, who led the World Academy of Total Community Health High School (WATCH) from 2013 until this August, when she retired.

Rivera, who served as sports director for WATCH and three other schools on the Thomas Jefferson campus in New Lotts, said Christie began laying off white employees a few years after taking office.

“Starting in the 2017-2018 school year, Principal Christie introduced a model of unfair treatment of non-African American employees,” the lawsuit says.

These efforts, Rivera argued, led to demographic changes among the school's staff.

“As a result, Caucasians, who made up 25% of WATCH High School's faculty in September 2016, accounted for zero percent of faculty by October 2019,” Rivera said in his lawsuit.

The educator noted that Christie ended up targeting him as well, as she wanted her friend, deputy director Arianna Lewis, to replace him as sports director. The lawsuit alleges that in 2017, Lewis urged relatives of school basketball players to accuse Rivera of discriminating against African American employees. The Special Investigation Directorate dismissed the allegations after verification.

Rivera started his career as a teacher in 2005. He later told Christie that coaches were changing player ratings and using fake addresses to secure incoming sports transfers. Shortly after he filed these charges, Rivera was removed from his position as sports director. He was replaced by Lewis. Later this replacement, Christie allegedly told Rivera that "the time has come for a black woman to take advantage of this little opportunity."

After losing his position as sporting director, Rivera remained on the staff of the school and said that he continues to notice violations on the part of Christie. He said that he was avenged for his honesty. They have tainted his dossier with trumped-up charges.

And in October 2019, Rivera was fired from school. On October 10, 2019, Rivera was transferred to the administrative office to redistribute the offending teachers “without any specific reason for his transfer,” the lawsuit says.

In May of this year, Rivera was informed that a case of illegal player transfers was pending in 2019, but that the charges against him were dropped after just a few weeks.

Rivera has filed a lawsuit against Christie, Lewis and the Department of Education for racial and gender discrimination.
