In it, the head of state criticized the mayor of New York for "denigrating" the area.

De Blasio added: “Who built this city, who built this nation and never received recognition? When we say Black Lives Matter, there is no more American statement, no more patriotic statement, because there is no America without black America. We recognize the truth within ourselves and in America. Saying “black life matters”, we correct the mistake, ”the mayor said quite emotionally.

President Donald Trump from the very beginning negatively perceived this plan as soon as it was announced by city officials in early July. He called the expression Black Lives Matter “a symbol of hatred” and suggested that police might interfere with the rally.

“Maybe our great police, which the mayor neutralizes and despises, hates and does not respect, will not allow this symbol of hatred to be applied on the greatest street in New York. Spend this money on crime fighting! " - Trump said.
